Lloyd Ternes - Business Manager
Kath and I moved to Salem in 1980, motivated by a veterinary position that was offered to her. We wanted to be on the water, near a large city and somewhere I could play hockey.
My original assumption was that I would help Kath establish the Feline Hospital and within a year return to the financial world.
Kath and I experienced an arduous legal battle and finally opened The Feline Hospital in 1987. We started small and grew slowly. Initially, Kath and I were it. Because I grew up in a small family business culture, I felt quite comfortable. Now, decades later, I am still intimately involved.
My goal is to shoulder as much non-medical responsibility as I can, to free the doctors and support staff to focus on delivering the highest level of medical care for patients, and customer care for clients. Our goal is to deliver a large hospital level of care in a small personalized setting.
I have an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance from Michigan State University.
I am a sports fan in general and an avid participant in hockey and golf. In a similar fashion, I am a business fan. I love reading about, understanding and debating the health and strategies of companies of any size.
